Sunday Worship at Beautiful Savior

Every church has its own style of worship. As in any church, you can expect it to take a couple of Sundays to become accustomed to our way of praising God. Every service is outlined in the Hymnbook.

Our Sunday worship begins at 9:00 am. The service focuses on readings from the Bible. Music and singing are also important parts of our service. The service usually includes the following parts in a variety of forms:

  • Invocation: We call on the name of our Savior God as we praise him.
  • Admitting sin, asking for forgiveness: We acknowledge that we have not done what God asks yet we are assured of forgiveness in Jesus.
  • Bible Readings: Scripture readings are from God's Old Testament prophets, Jesus' apostles and from Jesus himself.
  • Sermon: Our pastor offers instruction and encouragement in a Bible-based sermon.
  • Response to the Word: We respond with offerings for the things he has promised us and prayers for strength to do what he asks.
  • Holy Communion: Since we make a public declaration that we share a common belief about God and the Sacrament with those that join us at the altar, we ask visitors to speak with the pastor prior to the service if they wish to receive the sacrament.
  • Parting Blessing: We hear one last assurance of God's love.

Immediately following the service, we have fellowship time where members and visitors can visit and get to know each other while enjoying a donut and a cup of coffee.

Following fellowhsip time, at about 10:15 am, both adults and children spend time studying God's Word.  Children ages 3 and up are divided by age groups for Sunday school classes that include a Bible lession, discussion and crafts. Adult Bible class focuses on God's scriptures and includes a group discussion.

Additionally, other activities for the coming week are noted in the Sunday bulletin.
